Many cave divers and
cave diving students who
train and explore the cave systems of the Yucatan
find amusement in learning to speak the Yucatec
dialect of the MAYAN language. John Noftall began
learning Maya in 1995 during his cave training.
In 1997 he got a tattoo of
a Mayan Glyph, the one
that is featured in the logo. This figure represents
John's sign in MAYA in much the same way one might
use their zodiac sign as a representation. As with all
horoscopes, much can be left to the imagination.
Muan is thought to represent
an owl or young eagle.
It was originally translated as; "see in the darkness".
It is the sign of the invincible, those who go beyond
the surface. It indicates perseverance and even
stubbornness and is the symbol of the 13th and
highest heaven in the Mayan Cosmos.
