Read about us below but please judge us by how we look underwater .... not by how we look in print!
We promise to mentor Frog Kick & Buoyancy Skills & WE NEVER SCULL .... you decide if that's true!

  MAUREEN MILLER

Maureen didn't even want to be a diver prior to 1998. Since 2003 she has been an instructor. She is a dive professional who can really look the part. Maureen is one of a small group of students and colleagues who saw wisdom in the "NO HANDS" Philosophy that John promotes. She embraced these methods and is an outstanding example of what a diver can and should look like. Her frog kick is remarkable. She is a patient instructor who has made a world of difference for more than one apprehensive student. Although not known for being bold and pushing the so called envelope, she has , on numerous occasions, handled "the unexpected" with composure. Her impressive buoyancy skills serve her well as an amateur underwater photographer. Many of her humble efforts grace our web pages and galleries.
You need not look any further than Maureen in order to see what
BuoyancyQuest is all about. It is not about "machismo" but about "finesse" not about "tech talk" but about "tech diver worthy".............ULTIMATE BUOYANCY SKILLS !

Our Mission Statement....more or less?
JOHN NOFTALL CAVE DIVING IN MEXICO
 JOHN NOFTALL

John  is the founder of BuoyancyQuest. He is considered , by some, to be a buoyancy guru. Buoyancy skills are what distinguished him from his peers before he was an instructor or a cave diver and they continue to distinguish him from his colleagues as a professional. He taught at a local dive center for 9 years and certified almost 600 divers. He has been an NACD "full cave" certified diver since 1995 and began adapting some of the Hogarthian concepts to open water diving at once. John is most proud of the mentoring that he has provided while leading group travel to Mexico. His emphasis on fundamentals including frog kick and exceptional buoyancy skills has resulted in more than a few divers who signed up for a trip with the hope of having "FUN" returning home with a bonus they had never expected. Now he tries to make that bonus into the promise to and expectation of all who attend the workshops.

"SCULLING is the signature of poor buoyancy skills!"
( In SCUBA Diving .... SCULLING is not a technique .... Sculling is a FLAW! )

"SCULLING IS FOR OARS .... NOT ARMS!"
